Pathway to immigrate by Canadian Province or Territory nomination. For skilled workers who have necessary skills, education and work experience and wish to contribute towards a specific province’s or territory’s economy. This stream may vary in each province and territory for certain target groups. The target groups in these programs can be students, business people, skilled workers or even semi- skilled workers.
Application Options
This stream depends solely on the province that issued the nominee program and you might consider applying either through Express Entry or non Express Entry process.
The process requires you to pass a medical exam and get a police check/ certificate. It i9s a mandatory requirement no matter where you wish to stay in Canada.
Non- Express Entry Process
This nomination allows you to apply to the province or territory with non-express entry stream.The eligibility requirements as per each province needs to be met. Being nominated with this path entitles you to apply through an online permanent residence portal after completion of requirements such as medical examination and police check. Mostly this pathway takes longer than the usual Express Entry path.There are two steps to apply which is through 2 stages: First, decision of settlement in one specific province to be confirmed and application to be forwarded to the specific province or territory for consideration for nomination. The procedures may vary from province to province as per their immigration needs and the commitment to settle in the province. They will review your application based on the above mentioned aspects.After this, once the province or territory nominates the candidate, the next step is to apply to IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) for permanent residence. In accordance with the immigration law, the application will be assessed.
Express Entry Process
As mentioned in the other category this stream also has 2 different ways to apply through the online Express Entry process. The first step is to contact the province or territory and apply for a nomination, followed by a sanction from the province or territory agreeing to nominating you and thereafter, creating an Express Entry profile exhibiting that there is a nomination to the profile. Second method is to create an Express Entry profile listing the provinces and territories you are interested in. If a province or territory finds your profile meeting their requirements, they may send a notification of interest to your account and then contact them directly. Once you become nominated, the province or territory will be sending a nomination certificate to your account and thereafter you could accept it electronically. In both the above mentioned cases you must meet the eligibility requirements of each applied province or territory and submit an Express Entry profile ensuring that the minimum criteria for Express Entry is met as per one of the immigration programs it covers. With an invitation from the province you can submit an electronic application to IRCC.
