This is a status document issued to foreign nationals who are visa-required or visa-exempt and are seeking to enter or remain in Canada. The document determines the conditions and validity period of their temporary stay.
A visitor record also
- Explains the conditions of admission
- Provide the date of validity and the date the applicant must leave Canada.
- Will be a sum shot of all pertinent information about the subject who seeked entry to Canada and their purpose.
- Create awareness among foreign nationals, the requirement of having a formal authorization before any extension of stay in Canada.
In two situations a visa record is issued which are:
- To extend or limit: the length of stay of a temporary resident during their stay
- To specify conditions: which is applicable for temporary residents during their stay in Canada.
As most of the application statuses this also is applied through an online portal mostly.
Visitor Record can be issued by both CBSA and IRCC for various reasons.
