The Super Visa for parents or grandparents who wish to stay in Canada for more than 6 months. The visits can be up to 5 years at a time. This visa allows multiple entries for a period up to 10 years. There are very specific requirements for a super visa that includes health insurance.
The key eligibility criteria that comes under:
- Include a letter from your child or grandchild promising that they will support you financially in Canada during the duration of your stay.
- Second is to have a proof payment to a Canadian insurance company for a medical insurance or an insurance company outside Canada, that is pre-approved. The medical insurance needs to be at least $100,000 and valid for at least 1 year from the date of entry at a Canadian Port.
- Last, it is also a requirement that while applying for Canada, you are supposed to be outside Canada.
